Vann Nath (born 1946 - died September 5, 2011) was one the 7 survivors (2 alive) from the S21 secret prison at Tuol Sleng,His skill as a painter saved his life. Incarcerated in the Khmer Rouge's secret prison at Tuol Sleng, he was beaten, tortured and almost starved to death. But because of his training as an artist back in his home city of Battambang, Vann Nath was spared. He was put to work primarily painting pictures of Pol Pot, the Maoist movement's leader by the camp commandant Duch, although his life continued to hang by a slender thread..The photo are taken at the S21 Genocide Museum. In his book he wrote that he never been there since he escaped. .Cambodia finally , after 28 years, will have his first trial against the atrocity of the Pol Pot Regime in which 2 million people died
